Who are SHITAL?
SHITAL (Shirdi Sai Baba Temple Association of London) is a registered charity formed on 23rd April 2009. The objective of SHITAL is to promote spiritual knowledge for the benefit of the public in accordance with the teachings of Shree Shirdi Sai Baba. SHITAL has been operating in Milton Keynes since March 2011, holding services on Saturdays at Westcroft Meeting Place, 12 Wimborne Cres., Westcroft, Milton Keynes MK4 4DE, from 05:30 p.m. to 08:00 p.m.
It has been to the boon to the Shirdi Sai Baba followers living in Milton Keynes to attend the Harathis on Saturdays, especially the Dhoop Harathi at 06:30 p.m, when the most of the Devotees, including children and the elderly, participate with the utmost devotion. Following Baba’s teachings, the SHITAL MK Team are also involved in Charitable Activities such as Dry Food Donation to Food Banks, conducting Yoga Classes, and running Devotional Music Sessions. The Team also organizes Special Poojas including “Sai Satya Vrat Pooja”, Hanuman Chalisa, and monthly Special Poojas where devotees participate and offer prayers to Baba. Special endeavors are undertaken in nurturing future the generation with language and devotional music classes which would enhance their spiritual journey.
Telugu Classes for children are run from 03:00 p.m to 04:00 p.m each Saturday, and Bhajan Practices are conducted from 04:00 p.m to 05:00 p.m.
While SHITAL also operate Shirdi Sai Baba Temples in London, Leiceister and Reading, a Project to build a Shirdi Sai Sanathan Mandir and Community Centre in Milton Keynes was initiated in 2015. A piece of land was allocated by the Milton Keynes Community Foundation (MKCF) in 2017, and after a relentless campain, Planning Approval was obtained to build the Temple and Community Center in 2025. The new building is expected to be ready in 2025
